The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has begun selling its admission form for the 2024/2025 academic session. Prospective candidates are encouraged to apply promptly. Studying at NOUN offers students a rewarding experience, with all the support needed for success.
NOUN Admission Form for 2024/2025
NOUN Admission form for 2024/2025 is on sale. Candidates can complete their applications online. When candidates visit the programme page on the NOUN website, they must first select the Faculty, choose their desired programme, and choose their entry level. This will activate the View Requirement button. Candidates can click the button to view the entry requirements for the preferred programme. This will also enable the Apply button on the pre-payment application page.
Once the payment is successfully made, an online application form will be generated. Candidates should carefully fill out this form before submitting it online. The admission process is fully automated and will be explained in this guide.
NOUN Admission Form Requirements 2024/2025
- Both undergraduate and postgraduate applicants must have a minimum of 5 O-level credits, including English Language and Mathematics.
- Postgraduate Diploma candidates must possess either a minimum of a pass Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline or a Higher National Diploma (HND) with a minimum of Lower Credit.
- For the Postgraduate Diploma in Legislative Drafting, candidates must have been called to the Bar.
- For admission into the School of Business and Human Resource Management Postgraduate Diploma programmes, candidates with professional qualifications such as ACA, ACIS, ACIB, ACII, ACIA, etc., may be considered based on individual merit.
- Master’s degree candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of second class lower in the relevant field of study. However, candidates with a lower classification but with a minimum of 2 years of relevant post-qualification experience may be considered based on individual merit or a Postgraduate Diploma in a related field of study from a recognised university OR a Higher National Diploma (HND) with a minimum of Upper Credit in the relevant field of study.
- Candidates with membership certificates from relevant professional bodies may apply for the Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme.
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) candidates must possess a Master’s Degree in the relevant field of study with a minimum score average of not less than 60% or a cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.5 on a 5-point scale.
Additional requirements may apply for some programmes. These additional requirements can be viewed after selecting the programme and entry level on the Faculty’s admission page. Candidates can also check their qualifications by visiting the NOUN website at www.nouonline.nou.edu.ng/appl/check-qualification.
How to Apply for NOUN Admission 2024/2025
- Visit the NOUN website at www.nouonline.nou.edu.ng
- On the Home Page, go to the Menu Bar and click on Apply for Admission.
- Select either Undergraduate Programme or Postgraduate Programme. Other programmes are not available at the moment.
- On the left-hand side of the screen, click on Choose Faculty.
- Select your desired Faculty and fill in the displayed form.
- Click on the View Admission Criteria to see the requirements.
- Click on Apply to proceed.
- Note the UNIQUE ID displayed on the screen.
- Click on the Continue button.
- Select Bank Branch as your payment type and click Pay.
- Copy your RRR number and take it to any bank branch for payment.
After Payment Process
- Repeat steps 1 to 3 above.
- Go to Continue After Payment.
- Input your Unique ID, RRR number, and programme details.
- Click on Proceed.
- Fill out the form. Note that all fields marked with a red star are compulsory.
- After filling out the form, click on Submit.
- Print your Admission Letter.
- Visit the nearest study centre for screening.
Applicants who pay online using a payment card will automatically receive the online form, which must be filled out before submission. Applicants who pay through a bank branch must click on Continue After Payment and enter their Unique ID and RRR number. They also have the option to change the programme they initially applied for.
Applicants who had used an RRR generated last semester or earlier must restart the application process, up to the point where they are redirected to Remita. They should then use the newly generated Unique ID with the old RRR used for payment when clicking Proceed after payment.
